Teon and Nias – two new transparent polyester FR curtain fabrics for the international contract market – are studies in openness and airiness. But that doesn’t mean they dissolve into the background. Unlike typical transparent curtains – plain and white – Teon and Nias allow architects and designers to introduce liveliness and expression into commercial interiors. Adding an extra level of comfort and luxury to open-plan spaces, they provide privacy and connection through subtle, floor-to-ceiling borders that maintain sightlines and let light flow through.
Teon combines a vivid grid with an open weave, creating an animated play of light, colour and shadow in interiors. Despite its graphic presence, it has an incredible fluidity and a barely-there lightness. Teon’s oversized grid is a technical feat – it challenges the boundaries of what’s possible without compromising the fabric’s integrity.
An elegant and refined fabric made from polyester FR to meet the strictest global standards for public buildings,Teon comes in 12 colours. Each weft colour – from cooler tones like steel-blue and emerald green to warm copper and terracotta, as well as numerous neutrals – contrasts with a dark anthracite warp, which adds both body and a bold graphic quality to the fabric. Teon’s resemblance to modern architectonic grids is reinforced by a palette of greys, from steely silver to warm concrete.
A sturdy recycled content fabric with a small grid structure, Nias has a subtle effect on the surrounding space. Its slightly denser weave blurs and softens what’s visible behind it. Nias has an architectural appearance, like a cross between a curtain and a transparent wall.
Made from polyester FR to meet the strictest global standards for public buildings, Nias combines a weft of Vescom’s new yarn made from 100% recycled PET bottles with a black or white warp, resulting in a fabric with 78% recycled content.
Boasting a sporty aesthetic, Nias is a dry fabric with a natural, feathered-looking yarn, giving it a resemblance to wool. Nias' colours are chosen for its ability to lighten and brighten interiors.It comes in 13 fresh colours, including warm ochre, terracotta, sky blue, leaf green and dusty pink, and a wide range of soft neutrals. Featuring either a black or white warp, Nias' range of colours have an inherent luminance, mixing with their surroundings to achieve a unique spatial presence.
